Validation methodology.

How KnownX MPT propagation accuracy is measured and verified against independent reference data.

Validation Sequence

Accuracy is treated as a measured result, not a visual impression. The validation sequence is:

  1. Select a documented satellite and public TLE.
  2. Propagate the same orbit inside the KNOWN engine.
  3. Compare position history across a defined time span.
  4. Correct the physics before the milestone advances.

Reference Data Sources

KNOWN uses publicly available orbital data for validation:

  • Space-Track — primary TLE source for satellite orbital data
  • CelesTrak — supplementary TLE and orbital element data
  • JPL Horizons — high-precision ephemeris data for reference

Accuracy Metrics

Position divergence is measured as the difference between the KNOWN propagation result and reference data across the defined time span. Results are reported quantitatively — the model is corrected if divergence exceeds acceptable thresholds. This method ensures that accuracy claims are backed by measurable data, not visual impressions.
